 Southern Districts Section

As ASWA’s regular observing night locations are north of Perth, the Southern Districts Section was formed to accommodate members who live south of Perth. Southern Districts Deep Sky (SDDS) nights are held once a month at either Serpentine or Jarrahdale, where the emphasis is on observing darker-sky objects. These are unstructured evenings, where everyone roams through the sky at will. The night begins at sunset and continues until cloud, dew, rain or exhaustion puts an end to the night's observing. Depending on the site there may or may not be power or drinking water on-site (there are toilets!), so folks usually bring their own hot drinks and refreshments.
